THE EVENT
Calaverandia is an immersive Día de Muertos experience held annually in Guadalajara, Mexico. Through large-scale installations, live performances, multimedia experiences, themed environments, gastronomy, and interactive attractions, the event transforms the park into a celebration of Mexican traditions and contemporary entertainment.
THE CHALLENGE
Under the stewardship of the esteemed Main Curator, Elena Magini, Centro Pecci has extended an inviting opportunity for Post-Graduate students to craft an exhibition proposal that aligns with the institution's unwavering commitment to contemporary art. The call for proposals welcomes a broad spectrum of artistic media, provided that they are rooted in the realm of contemporary art.
THE CHALLENGE
Producing an event of this scale requires the coordination of multiple teams, suppliers, installations, and operational areas within a highly dynamic environment. Clear visitor navigation is particularly important, as thousands of attendees move simultaneously between stages, attractions, food and beverage areas, services, and immersive experiences throughout the venue.
MY ROLE
Sector & Signage Producer — Calaverandia 2024 & 2025
As part of the production team, I was responsible for the coordination and execution of assigned event sectors, as well as the production and implementation of signage throughout the venue.
My role involved overseeing on-site production needs, coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers, tracking deliverables and installation timelines, and ensuring that signage and sector elements were correctly produced, positioned, and ready for opening.
